Job Description
The Clinical Nurse in the Emergency Department provides compassionate patient care through active listening and kindness, contributing to a supportive environment for patients, families, and colleagues.
Implements physician orders, administers medications, starts IVs, performs treatments, procedures, and documents care according to policies and regulations.
Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to assess patient conditions.
Assesses patient needs and responses to care, using sound nursing judgment.
Provides primary and emergency care for injuries and illnesses, administering medications as ordered.
Collaborates with the nursing team to develop and implement patient care plans and guides ancillary staff.
Must have a nursing degree (Diploma, Associate, or Baccalaureate), valid NYS RN license, and certifications in BLS and ACLS.
Requires 1-3 years of clinical RN experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care, with strong communication, organization, and quality improvement skills.
This role may involve access to sensitive information, requiring adherence to privacy and security standards.
