Job Description
The Emergency Department Night Nurse provides compassionate patient care through active listening and kindness, contributing to a supportive environment for patients, families, and staff.
Responsibilities include implementing physician orders, administering medications, starting IVs, performing treatments, and documenting care in compliance with regulations.
Evaluates diagnostic tests, assesses patient needs, and applies sound nursing judgment for both primary and emergency care.
Collaborates with the team to develop patient care plans and guides ancillary personnel, maintaining professional standards.
Minimum qualifications include graduation from a recognized nursing program, current NYS RN license, BLS and ACLS certification, and 1-3 years of clinical RN experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care.
Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills are required, along with knowledge of quality improvement principles.
This role may involve handling sensitive protected health information, requiring strict adherence to privacy policies.
