Job Description
The Pediatric ICU (PICU) is a 19-bed unit caring for critically ill children aged 0-21 with conditions like respiratory illness, trauma, sepsis, neurological disorders, and post-surgical needs, including neurosurgery and open-heart surgery. Staff also participate in critical care transport to stabilize and transfer patients.
Responsibilities include implementing physician orders, administering medications, performing treatments, interpreting diagnostic tests, and assessing patient needs.
Provide primary and emergency care, collaborate on care plans, and guide ancillary staff while maintaining professional standards.
Qualifications require a nursing degree (Diploma, Associate, or Baccalaureate), current RN license, BLS and ACLS certifications, with preferred experience as a PCA or nursing assistant.
Emphasis on continuing education, quality improvement knowledge, and adherence to privacy and safety regulations.
Salary range is $72,072.00 – $74,229.26 for night shift work.
