Job Description

The Clinical Nurse in the Orthopedics & Spine Unit works night shifts, providing compassionate patient care and supporting families and colleagues.

  • Implements physician orders, administers medications, starts IVs, performs treatments, procedures, and tests, and documents care according to policies and regulations.
  • Assesses patient needs and responses to care, applying sound nursing judgment.
  • Provides primary and emergency care for injuries and illnesses, administering medications as ordered.
  • Collaborates with the nursing team to create patient care plans and guides ancillary staff to maintain professional standards.
    Minimum qualifications include a nursing diploma, associate or baccalaureate degree, NYS RN license, BLS certification, and strong communication and organizational skills.
    The role involves handling sensitive information in compliance with privacy laws and hospital policies.
