Job Description
The Clinical Nurse in the General Surgery/Trauma unit provides compassionate patient care through active listening and kindness.
Implements physician orders, administers medications, starts IVs, and performs treatments and tests.
Evaluates diagnostic tests and assesses patient needs and responses.
Uses sound nursing judgment in care management and provides primary and emergency care.
Administers medications and collaborates with the team to develop care plans.
Leads and guides ancillary staff while maintaining professional standards.
Requires a nursing diploma or degree, current NYS RN license, BLS and ACLS certification, and 1-3 years of clinical RN experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care.
Strong communication, organization, and quality improvement skills are essential.
The role may involve handling sensitive information, with strict adherence to privacy and confidentiality policies.
