Job Description

The Clinical Nurse in the Medical/Surgical Hospitalist department assesses, plans, and manages patient care throughout their stay, focusing on progress toward discharge and care transitions.

  • Implements physician orders, administers medications, performs treatments, procedures, and documents care per policies and regulations.
  • Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to assess patient conditions.
  • Provides primary and emergency care for injuries and illnesses, collaborating with the team to create and follow the Plan of Care.
  • Guides ancillary staff, maintains nursing standards, and ensures compassionate, competent patient care.
    Minimum qualifications include a nursing degree, current NYS RN license, BLS and ACLS certifications, and relevant experience.
    The role requires adherence to confidentiality and information security standards.
