Job Description
The Colorectal Surgery & Urology unit cares for patients post-surgery in 22 semi-private rooms.
Assist with procedures like chest tube insertion, central lines, wound vacs, NG, catheters.
Assess, plan, coordinate, and manage patient care throughout their stay, focusing on discharge readiness.
Implement physician orders, administer medications, start IVs, perform treatments, and document care.
Evaluate diagnostic tests, assess patient needs, and apply sound nursing judgment.
Collaborate with the team to create and follow individualized care plans.
Guide ancillary staff and maintain professional standards.
Minimum qualifications include a nursing diploma or degree, current RN license, and certifications like BLS/ACLS/PALS/TNCC.
Continuing education is encouraged to improve performance.
The role involves handling sensitive information following privacy regulations.
