Job Description
The Registered Professional Nurse in the Post Cardiothoracic Surgery department assesses, plans, and manages patient care throughout their stay, focusing on discharge readiness and care transitions.
Implements physician orders, administers medications, performs treatments, and documents care per regulations.
Orders and evaluates diagnostic tests, assesses patient needs, and uses sound judgment for care decisions.
Provides primary and emergency care for injuries and illnesses, collaborating with the team to create and follow a Plan of Care.
Guides ancillary staff and maintains professional nursing standards.
Requires a nursing degree, valid NYS RN license, BLS certification, and preferably prior nursing assistant experience.
Demonstrates commitment to quality improvement and ongoing education.
This role involves handling sensitive information in compliance with privacy laws and policies.
