Job Description
The Registered Professional Nurse in Post Cardiothoracic Surgery assesses, plans, and manages patient care throughout their stay, focusing on discharge readiness and care transitions.
Implements physician orders, administers medications, performs treatments, and documents care per policies and regulations.
Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to assess patient conditions.
Provides primary and emergency care for injuries and illnesses.
Collaborates with the team to develop and follow individualized care plans.
Guides ancillary staff and maintains professional nursing standards.
Requires a nursing degree, current NYS RN license, BLS certification, and preferably prior nursing assistance experience.
Demonstrates knowledge of quality improvement, problem-solving, and continuing education to enhance performance.
