Job Description
The Registered Professional Nurse in the Post Cardiothoracic Surgery unit assesses, plans, and manages patient care throughout the episode of care, focusing on progress toward discharge and transitions within the acute stay.
Responsibilities include implementing physician orders, administering medications, performing treatments, interpreting diagnostic tests, and providing primary and emergency care.
Collaborates with the team to create and follow a Plan of Care, guiding ancillary staff and ensuring quality standards.
Minimum qualifications include a nursing diploma or degree, current NYS RN license, BLS certification, and prior nursing experience preferred.
Must demonstrate knowledge of quality improvement concepts and uphold patient confidentiality and information security policies.
