Job Description
The Vascular Surgery RN role involves assessing, planning, coordinating, and managing patient care throughout their hospital stay, focusing on discharge and care transitions.
Responsibilities include implementing physician orders, administering medications, performing treatments, ordering and evaluating diagnostic tests, and providing emergency and primary care.
The RN collaborates with the team to develop care plans, directs ancillary staff, and ensures quality standards.
Must have a nursing diploma or degree, NYS RN license, BLS and ACLS certifications, and 1-3 years of Med-Surg or Progressive Care experience.
Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills are required.
The unit specializes in vascular disease patients, including those with co-morbidities, requiring telemetry monitoring for procedures like carotid endarterectomy and aneurysm repairs.
