Job Description
The Clinical Nurse in Elective Orthopedics works night shifts, providing compassionate care to patients, families, and colleagues through kindness and active listening.
Implements physician orders, administers medications, starts IVs, performs treatments, procedures, tests, and documents care according to policies and regulations.
Evaluates diagnostic tests, assesses patient needs and responses, and applies sound nursing judgment.
Provides primary and emergency care for injuries and illnesses, administers medications, and collaborates with the team to create a Plan of Care.
Guides ancillary staff and maintains professional standards.
Requires a nursing degree (Diploma, Associate, or Baccalaureate), current NYS RN license, and certifications in BLS and ACLS.
Requires 1-3 years of clinical RN experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care, with strong communication, organizational, and quality improvement skills.
Must adhere to HIPAA and confidentiality standards to protect sensitive information.
