Job Description
The Clinical Nurse in the Emergency Department provides compassionate care, actively listening and creating a supportive environment for patients, families, and colleagues.
Implements physician orders, administers medications, starts IVs, performs treatments, procedures, and documents care according to policies and regulations.
Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to assess patient conditions.
Assesses patient needs and responses to care, applying sound nursing judgment.
Provides primary and emergency care for various injuries and illnesses.
Administers medications as prescribed and collaborates with the team to develop patient care plans.
Guides ancillary staff and maintains professional nursing standards.
Requires a nursing degree (Diploma, Associate, or Baccalaureate), current NYS RN license, BLS and ACLS certifications, and 1-3 years of clinical RN experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care.
Must have strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. The role involves handling sensitive information in compliance with privacy laws.
