Job Description
This RN position in the Emergency Department involves assessing, planning, coordinating, and managing patient care throughout their stay, focusing on discharge readiness and transitions.
Provides primary and emergency care, administers medications, starts IVs, performs treatments and tests, and documents accordingly.
Evaluates diagnostic tests and patient responses, applying sound nursing judgment for care decisions.
Collaborates with the team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Guides ancillary staff and maintains professional nursing standards.
The ED is a Level I Trauma Center with 45 rooms, divided into zones for trauma, pediatrics, minor care, and rapid care, serving patients 24/7.
Includes specialized facilities like radiology, decontamination, and a satellite lab.
Additional services include triage, EMS patient routing, psychiatric crisis care, and regional burn transfers.
The role requires adherence to confidentiality and regulatory standards, including HIPAA.
