Job Description

The Clinical Nurse in the Emergency Department provides comprehensive patient care during all care stages, focusing on progress toward discharge and transitions within the hospital stay.

  • Implements physician orders, administers medications, performs treatments, procedures, and documents care according to policies and regulations.

  • Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to assess patient conditions.

  • Assesses patient needs and responses to care, applying sound nursing judgment.

  • Provides primary and emergency care for injuries and illnesses, administering medications as ordered.

  • Collaborates with the team to develop and execute patient care plans, guiding ancillary staff and maintaining nursing standards.

    • Minimum qualifications include a nursing degree, current RN license, BLS and ACLS certification, and relevant experience. Continuing education and knowledge of quality improvement are encouraged. The role requires confidentiality and adherence to privacy regulations.
