Job Description
The registered nurse in the Operating Room assesses, plans, and manages surgical patient care throughout their stay, focusing on progress toward discharge and transitions within care.
Acts as the patient advocate during procedures and ensures coordinated, compassionate care for patients, families, and staff.
Implements physician orders, administers medications, and documents according to policies and regulations.
Evaluates patient needs, applies sound nursing judgment, and guides ancillary personnel to uphold professional standards.
Requires a nursing degree (Diploma, Associate, or Baccalaureate), current RN license, BLS certification, and 1-3 years of surgical experience preferred.
Knowledge of quality improvement and problem-solving is essential.
The OR features advanced technology, including robotic systems, hybrid suites, and specialized rooms for complex surgeries.
The role may involve handling sensitive information, with strict confidentiality and compliance requirements.
