Job Description
The Registered Professional Nurse in the Operating Room assesses, plans, directs, and manages surgical patients’ care throughout their stay, focusing on discharge readiness and care transitions.
Acts as the patient advocate during procedures and ensures compassionate, competent care for patients, referring facilities, and staff in inpatient, ambulatory, and community settings.
Implements physician orders, administers medications, evaluates patient needs, and applies sound nursing judgment.
Guides ancillary staff and maintains professional nursing standards.
Requires a nursing diploma, associate or baccalaureate degree, current NYS RN license, and BLS certification; CNOR preferred.
1-3 years of surgical RN experience is preferred.
The role involves working in a state-of-the-art OR with advanced technology and specialty suites, supporting quality and patient safety.
