Job Description
The Medical/Surgical Hospitalist RN works night shifts, assessing, planning, and managing patient care to facilitate discharge and care transitions.
Provides direct patient care including medication administration, IV starts, treatments, and diagnostic evaluations.
Collaborates with the care team to develop and implement care plans, ensuring compassionate, competent care across inpatient, outpatient, and community settings.
Orders and interprets diagnostic tests, assesses patient responses, and applies sound clinical judgment.
Provides emergency and occupational health care, administers medications, and guides ancillary staff.
Requires a nursing diploma or degree, valid NYS RN license, BLS certification, and prior nursing experience preferred. Continuing education and quality improvement knowledge are valued.
