Job Description

The Medical/Surgical Hospitalist RN works night shifts, assessing, planning, and managing patient care to facilitate discharge and care transitions.

  • Provides direct patient care including medication administration, IV starts, treatments, and diagnostic evaluations.

  • Collaborates with the care team to develop and implement care plans, ensuring compassionate, competent care across inpatient, outpatient, and community settings.

  • Orders and interprets diagnostic tests, assesses patient responses, and applies sound clinical judgment.

  • Provides emergency and occupational health care, administers medications, and guides ancillary staff.

  • Requires a nursing diploma or degree, valid NYS RN license, BLS certification, and prior nursing experience preferred. Continuing education and quality improvement knowledge are valued.
