Job Description
The clinical Nurse in the Float Pool provides compassionate patient care through active listening and kindness, contributing to a supportive environment for patients, families, and colleagues.
Implements physician orders, administers medications, starts IVs, performs treatments, procedures, and tests, and documents care according to policies and regulations.
Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to assess patient conditions.
Assesses patient needs and responses to care, applying sound nursing judgment for management decisions.
Provides primary and emergency care for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
Administers medications as ordered and collaborates with the team to create and follow patient care plans.
Directs ancillary personnel and maintains professional nursing standards.
Minimum qualifications include a nursing degree, current NYS RN license, BLS and ACLS certifications, 1-3 years of clinical RN experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care, and strong communication and organizational skills. The role requires adherence to confidentiality policies regarding sensitive information.
