The Clinical Nurse in the Float Pool assesses, plans, and manages patient care across various units, focusing on progress toward discharge and transitions during care episodes.
Responsibilities include implementing physician orders, administering medications, performing treatments, interpreting diagnostic tests, and providing emergency and primary care.
Collaborates with the team to create and follow a Plan of Care, directs ancillary staff, and ensures quality nursing standards.
Qualifications include a nursing diploma or degree, current NYS RN license, BLS and ACLS certifications, with preferred experience as a PCA or nursing assistant.
