Job Description

The Clinical Nurse in the Operating Room assesses, plans, directs, and manages patient care throughout hospitalization, focusing on discharge readiness and care transitions.

  • Implements physician orders, administers medications, performs treatments, and documents care according to policies and regulations.

  • Evaluates diagnostic tests, assesses patient needs, and applies sound nursing judgment in care management.

  • Provides primary and emergency care for various injuries and illnesses, collaborating with the team to create and follow a Plan of Care.

  • Supervises ancillary staff, maintains professional standards, and ensures quality patient care.

  • Minimum qualifications include a nursing degree, current RN license, BLS and ACLS certification, with preferred previous nursing assistance experience.

  • Requires knowledge of quality improvement, confidentiality, and adherence to HIPAA and other regulations.
