Job Description
The Registered Professional Nurse in the Medical/Surgical Hospitalist department assesses, plans, coordinates, and manages patient care throughout their stay, focusing on discharge readiness and transitions.
Implements physician orders, administers medications, performs treatments, procedures, and documents care according to policies and regulations.
Interprets diagnostic tests, evaluates patient conditions, and applies sound nursing judgment for care management.
Provides primary and emergency care for injuries and illnesses, administers medications, and collaborates with the team to develop a Plan of Care.
Directs ancillary staff, maintains professional standards, and ensures compassionate, competent care for patients across inpatient, ambulatory, and community settings.
The role requires adherence to confidentiality and data protection standards, including HIPAA regulations.
