Job Description
The Night Medical/Surgical Cardiac Hospitalist provides comprehensive nursing care for a 29-bed cardiac unit, assessing and managing patients with cardiac and medical conditions.
Responsibilities include implementing physician orders, administering medications, performing treatments, interpreting diagnostic tests, and providing primary and emergency care.
Collaborates with the care team to develop and execute patient care plans, supervises ancillary staff, and ensures high-quality, compassionate care.
Requires a nursing degree (Diploma, Associate, or Baccalaureate), current NYS RN license, and BLS/ACLS certifications.
Preferred experience as a PCA or nursing assistant, with ongoing education to enhance performance.
The unit serves a diverse patient population aged 18 to over 100, primarily post-cardiac procedures needing telemetry monitoring.
The role involves sensitive information handling adhering to HIPAA and confidentiality standards.
