Job Description
The Clinical Nurse in Hematology/Oncology works night shifts to assess, coordinate, and manage patient care throughout their hospital stay, focusing on discharge planning and transitions.
Responsibilities include implementing physician orders, administering medications, performing treatments, ordering and evaluating diagnostic tests, and providing primary and emergency care.
Collaborates with the nursing team to develop and follow patient care plans, directs ancillary staff, and ensures high standards of compassionate, competent care.
Minimum qualifications include a nursing diploma, associate or baccalaureate degree, current NYS RN license, BLS and ACLS certifications, and preferred prior experience as a PCA or nurse assistant.
Must demonstrate knowledge of quality improvement and ongoing education to enhance performance.
The role requires adherence to privacy and confidentiality policies, including HIPAA regulations.
