The Clinical Nurse in the Post Cardiothoracic Surgery department provides comprehensive patient care by assessing, planning, implementing, and managing patient needs throughout their stay, focusing on discharge readiness and care transitions.
Responsibilities include implementing physician orders, administering medications, performing treatments, interpreting diagnostic tests, and collaborating with the care team to develop and execute care plans.
The role involves providing primary and emergency care, guiding ancillary staff, and ensuring high standards of compassionate, competent nursing.
Qualifications include a nursing diploma, associate or baccalaureate degree, current NYS RN license, BLS and ACLS certification, and 1-3 years of clinical RN experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care.
Strong communication, organizational, and quality improvement skills are essential. The position offers a salary range of $68,640 to $70,699.20, with an hourly rate of $33.00 to $33.99, and requires adherence to confidentiality policies regarding sensitive healthcare information.
