Job Description
The Clinical Nurse in the Post Cardiothoracic Surgery unit provides comprehensive patient care during the entire episode of care, focusing on discharge planning and transitions.
Responsibilities include implementing physician orders, administering medications, performing treatments, interpreting diagnostic tests, assessing patient needs, and providing primary and emergency care.
Collaborates with the team to create and follow a Plan of Care, guiding ancillary staff and ensuring professional standards.
Qualifications include a nursing degree (Diploma, Associate, or Baccalaureate), current RN license, BLS and ACLS certification, and 1-3 years of clinical RN experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care.
Strong communication, organization, and quality improvement skills are essential.
