Job Description
The Clinical Nurse in the Post Cardiothoracic Surgery unit provides comprehensive patient care during the hospital stay, focusing on progress toward discharge and care transitions.
Responsibilities include implementing physician orders, administering medications, performing treatments and tests, and documenting care according to policies and regulations.
They evaluate diagnostic results, assess patient needs, and make sound nursing decisions for primary and emergency care.
Collaborating with the nursing team, they create and follow a Plan of Care, guiding ancillary staff to ensure quality standards.
Qualifications include a nursing degree (Diploma, Associate, or Baccalaureate), a current RN license, BLS and ACLS certifications, and 1-3 years of clinical RN experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care.
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills are required. The role may involve handling sensitive patient information, with strict adherence to privacy regulations.
