Job Description
The Clinical Nurse in the Infectious Disease Med/Surg Unit provides compassionate patient care through active listening and kindness.
Implements physician orders, administers medications, starts IVs, performs treatments, procedures, and documents care according to policies and regulations.
Interprets diagnostic tests, assesses patient needs, and applies sound nursing judgment for care management.
Provides primary and emergency care for injuries and illnesses, administering medications as ordered.
Collaborates with the team to develop a Plan of Care and guides ancillary staff while maintaining professional standards.
Minimum qualifications include a nursing degree (Diploma, Associate, or Baccalaureate), current NYS RN license, BLS and ACLS certification, and 1-3 years of clinical RN experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care.
Strong communication, organizational skills, and knowledge of quality improvement principles are required.
The role involves handling sensitive information in compliance with privacy regulations.
