Job Description
The Clinical Nurse in the Emergency Department provides compassionate patient care through active listening and kindness.
Implements physician orders, administers medications, starts IVs, performs treatments, procedures, and documents care according to policies and regulations.
Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to assess patient conditions.
Assesses patient needs and responses to care, using sound nursing judgment for management decisions.
Offers primary and emergency care for injuries and illnesses, administering prescribed medications.
Collaborates with the team to develop patient care plans and guides ancillary staff.
Requires a nursing degree (Diploma, Associate, or Baccalaureate), current NYS RN license, and certifications in BLS and ACLS.
Minimum 1-3 years of clinical RN experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care, with strong communication and organizational skills.
Knowledge of quality improvement principles and problem-solving tools is essential.
