Position: Registered Nurse (RN) – Behavioral Health
Type: PRN Level I (Minimum 1 shift/pay period, 1 weekend shift/month, 1 holiday/year)
*Requires a minimum of 18 months of RN hospital experience*
Location: SOVAH Martinsville
Position Summary:
- Deliver direct patient care using the nursing process in line with established standards.
- Implement care plans, including medication administration and clinical treatments.
- Document all patient care provided.
- Monitor and communicate patient conditions to the care team and family.
- Identify changes in patient status and report to the appropriate team member.
- Prioritize patient problems, focusing on urgent needs.
- Assist patients with daily living activities.
- Collaborate across disciplines for coordinated patient care.
- Assess and educate patients and families based on their needs.
- Advocate for the patient’s physical and emotional well-being.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Current RN licensure from the Virginia State Board of Nursing or a Compact State.
- Preferred experience in an acute care hospital setting.
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
