Job Description

The Clinical Nurse in Labor & Delivery contributes to a compassionate environment by providing patient-centered care through kindness and active listening.

  • Responsible for implementing physician orders, administering medications, starting IVs, performing treatments, procedures, and documenting care according to policies and regulations.
  • Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to assess patient conditions.
  • Assesses patient needs and responses to care, applying sound nursing judgment.
  • Provides primary and emergency care for injuries and illnesses, administering medications as ordered.
  • Collaborates with the team to develop and follow a Plan of Care and guides ancillary staff.
  • Cross-trains to work on both High Risk Antepartum and Labor & Delivery units, with routine assignments to either unit.
  • This role involves handling sensitive information, requiring adherence to confidentiality, HIPAA regulations, and data protection standards.
