Job Description
The Emergency Department Nurse provides compassionate patient care, demonstrating kindness and active listening to patients, families, and colleagues.
Implements physician orders, administers medications, performs treatments, procedures, and documents care following regulations.
Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to assess patient conditions.
Assesses patient needs and responses to care, applying sound nursing judgment for management decisions.
Offers primary and emergency care for various injuries and illnesses, administering medications as ordered.
Collaborates with the team to develop individualized care plans and guides ancillary staff, maintaining professional standards.
Qualifications include nursing degree (Diploma, Associate, or Baccalaureate), current NYS RN license, BLS and ACLS certifications, and 1-3 years of clinical experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care.
Strong communication, organizational, and quality improvement skills are essential.
