Job Description
The Registered Professional Nurse in the Medical/Surgical Hospitalist department assesses, plans, and manages patient care throughout their hospital stay with a focus on discharge readiness.
Implements physician orders, administers medications, starts IVs, and performs treatments and tests.
Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to assess patient conditions.
Evaluates patient needs and responses to care, applying sound nursing judgment.
Provides primary and emergency care for injuries and illnesses.
Collaborates with the team to develop and follow a Plan of Care.
Guides ancillary staff and maintains professional nursing standards.
The role may involve handling sensitive information, requiring compliance with privacy regulations and a “need to know” access approach.
