Job Description

The Emergency Department nurse provides compassionate patient care by listening and responding to patient and family needs, contributing to a supportive environment.

  • Implements physician orders, administers medications, starts IVs, performs treatments, procedures, and documents care according to policies and regulations.

  • Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to assess patient conditions.

  • Evaluates patient needs and responses to care, applying sound nursing judgment.

  • Provides primary and emergency care for various injuries and illnesses.

  • Collaborates with the team to develop and implement patient care plans.

  • Directs ancillary staff and maintains professional nursing standards.

  • Requires graduation from a recognized nursing program, current RN license, and certifications in BLS and ACLS.

  • Must have 1-3 years of clinical RN experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care, with strong communication and organizational skills.
