Job Description

The Wound Ostomy Continence (WOC) Nurse provides expert nursing care for patients with wound, ostomy, and continence needs, supporting patient progress and care transitions.

  • Responsibilities include assessing patient needs, analyzing data, setting individualized outcomes, and collaborating with the healthcare team to improve care quality and efficiency.
  • They review policies, assist in resource allocation, and help patients access appropriate services.
  • Requirements include graduation from an accredited WOC nursing program, current NYS RN license, 3-5 years nursing experience, and plan to achieve tri-certification within 1 year.
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing required; Master’s preferred or in progress.
  • Effective communication, teamwork, responsibility, and commitment to continuing education are essential.
