Job Description
The Wound Ostomy Continence (WOC) Nurse provides expert nursing care for patients with wound, ostomy, and continence needs, supporting patient progress and care transitions.
Responsibilities include assessing patient needs, analyzing data, setting individualized outcomes, and collaborating with the healthcare team to improve care quality and efficiency.
They review policies, assist in resource allocation, and help patients access appropriate services.
Requirements include graduation from an accredited WOC nursing program, current NYS RN license, 3-5 years nursing experience, and plan to achieve tri-certification within 1 year.
Bachelorâs degree in nursing required; Masterâs preferred or in progress.
Effective communication, teamwork, responsibility, and commitment to continuing education are essential.
