Job Description

The Emergency Department RN assesses, plans, directs, and manages patient care across the care continuum, focusing on discharge progress and transitions.

  • Provides primary and emergency care for patients of all ages in a Level I Trauma Center setting.
  • Coordinates care, implements physician orders, administers medications, performs treatments, and documents interventions.
  • Evaluates diagnostic tests, assesses patient needs, and applies sound nursing judgment.
  • Collaborates with the team to develop and follow plans of care, guiding ancillary staff.
  • Requires NYS RN license, 1-3 years ED experience, and certifications in BLS/ACLS/PALS/TNCC.
  • Ensures compliance with privacy and safety regulations, maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
