Job Description
The Registered Professional Nurse in the Vascular Surgery unit provides comprehensive patient care, focusing on assessment, planning, coordination, and management throughout the care episode, including discharge and transitions.
Responsibilities include implementing physician orders, administering medications, performing treatments, interpreting diagnostic tests, and providing primary/emergency care.
Collaborates with the team to develop and follow plans of care, directs ancillary staff, and ensures quality standards.
Qualifications include a nursing diploma or degree, valid NYS RN license, BLS and ACLS certification, and 1-3 years of Med-Surg or Progressive Care experience.
Requires excellent communication, organization, and knowledge of quality improvement concepts.
The role involves caring for adult patients with vascular and surgical conditions, including complex cases with co-morbidities.
