Job Description
This RN position in the Colorectal Surgery & Urology unit involves caring for post-surgical patients in 22 semi-private rooms.
Assist with procedures like chest tube insertion, central lines, wound vacs, NG tubes, and catheters.
Assess, plan, implement, and coordinate patient care, ensuring smooth transitions and discharge readiness.
Implement physician orders, administer medications, perform treatments, and interpret diagnostic tests.
Evaluate patient needs and responses, applying sound nursing judgment.
Collaborate with the team to create and follow a comprehensive Care Plan.
Supervise ancillary staff and maintain professional standards.
Minimum qualifications include a nursing diploma or degree, current RN license, and certifications like BLS/ACLS/PALS/TNCC. Continuing education to improve skills is encouraged. The role may involve handling sensitive health information under strict confidentiality.
