Job Description

The qualified Nurse, with experience in a similar clinical setting, practices independently and demonstrates awareness of all relevant aspects of patient care. They provide both routine and complex nursing care, develop long-term plans, and manage clinical contingencies. The nurse makes appropriate assignments and delegates tasks to care providers to ensure effective patient management.

  • Meets competency expectations related to self-leadership, team leadership, or leadership of multiple teams.
  • Provides nursing care using the nursing process—assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation—for assigned patients.
  • Addresses the psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families according to their level of practice.
  • Administers medications and treatments per protocol, monitors for side effects and effectiveness.
  • Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
  • Assesses learning needs and educates patients, families, and caregivers, identifying issues and resources.

    • Education/Skills: Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.

    Experience: At least 1 year in a related nursing specialty preferred.

    Licenses/Certifications: BLS required; RN license in the state of employment or a compact license.

    Work Schedule: Full-time.
