Position Summary: The COTA Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant delivers direct rehabilitation care in occupational therapy under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT), following all relevant laws and standards.
Education, Experience, and Licensure Requirements:
NBCOT certified upon hire; renewal optional
Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy program (ASOT)
Active state registration/licensure required
Preferred one year of experience in post-acute care
CPR certification required upon hire
Specific Job Requirements:
Engage in community health projects
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Coordinate with patients and families for care planning
Demonstrate good body mechanics and independent decision-making
Knowledge of relevant laws and guidelines
Maintain confidentiality and professional relationships
Essential Functions:
Implement treatment plans as directed by the OT
Accurate and timely charting
Provide excellent customer service
Assist in patient evacuation
Regular attendance and effective communication within a team
