Summary:

Surgical assistants aid surgeons during operations by providing exposure, hemostasis, and closure, while also performing preoperative and postoperative duties. They work under the surgeon’s supervision and adhere to hospital policies and regulations.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in patient positioning and preparation.
  • Performing surgical tasks such as incision closure and tissue manipulation.
  • Applying dressings and assessing skin integrity.
  • Conducting additional procedures under supervision as needed.

    • Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduation from an accredited Surgical First Assist Program.
  • 2 years of Surgical Tech experience preferred.
  • BLS and Certified Surgical Technologist First Assistant required.

    • Work Schedule: Varies, Full Time.
