Job Description

Job Summary: The Laboratory Technical Specialist supports the Clinical Laboratory’s Section manager to ensure efficient workflow and serves as a liaison between staff and management. Responsibilities include performing phlebotomy procedures on various patient age groups, leading equipment operations, advising on new methodologies, and ensuring staff training and competency. The Specialist may also participate in Process Improvement Teams and may be requested to take On-Call duties.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant science or medical laboratory technology, or military medical laboratory training.
• Compliance with CLIA standards for testing personnel.
• Certification by ASCP, AMT, or AABB preferred.
