SURGICAL TECHNOLOGIST

Job Description

Job Summary: Assist the surgical team before, during, and after surgeries.

Job Responsibilities:

• Prepare the surgical room for procedures.
• Pass instruments and assist with retractors.
• Provide relief to staff and troubleshoot equipment.
• Ensure exemplary customer service and effective communication with the healthcare team.
• Count sponges, needles, and instruments pre- and post-operation.
• Support surgical tech students and new employees.
• Supervise nursing assistants indirectly.

Requirements:

• Graduate of a Surgical Technological Program or related OJT with 6-12 months of experience.
• Surgical Technologist Certificate required within 18 months of hire; Associate degree preferred, BLS required.

Populations Served: Care for patients from infants to older adults, excluding neonates.
