*Here’s What You Need*

*Education*
* Associate’s Degree Applied Science Req Or
* Other completion of accredited program in cardiovascular technology Must obtain RCIS within 6 months of hire Req Or
* H.S. Diploma or Equivalent 2 Years work experience in invasive cardiology Req
* Other – CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency Req

*Experience*
* 1 Year vascular or cardiac angiography Pref or
* 2 Years required with high school diploma Req

*Licenses and Certifications*
* ARRT – American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Upon Hire Req And
* GMRT – General Medical Radiologic Technologist If ARRT Only Upon Hire Pref Or
* RCIS – Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist Obtain within 6 months if graduate from Cardiovascular Accredited Program Upon Hire Req And
* LMRT – Limited Medical Radiologic Technologist If RCIS Only Upon Hire Pref Or
* RCES – Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist For Electrophysiology Labs (EP) Only Upon Hire Req And
* BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Req And
* ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support 90 Days Req

*Here’s What You’ll Do*

*Patient Care*
* Prepares room for examination (i.e. suction, oxygen, supplies)
* Checks physician orders and exam requisitions using time-out procedures

*Imaging Procedures, Quality and Processing*
* Adjusts technique parameters appropriately for age related factors
* Assists radiologist with complex and invasive procedures using aseptic technique

*Equipment Operation and Maintenance*
* Troubleshoots and properly documents equipment malfunction
* Maintains equipment and room to sanitary standards
