The Nurse Practitioner is strongly committed to and promotes a strong belief in Adapts philosophy, purpose and ideals. The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for providing and overseeing medical, psychiatric, nursing, pharmacy, toxicology, and other services offered at the OTP.
*Primary Responsibilities:*
* Performs history taking, physical examination, diagnosis, and therapeutic treatment planning within their scope of practice.
* 2.Reviews and assesses the patient medical history, including substance use patterns, health habits and disease history. Includes basic principles of healthy lifestyle and health risk reduction with patient encounter, orders diagnostic testing as indicated.
* Orders, reviews, and evaluates any needed toxicology and hematology requirements for admission, induction, and ongoing evaluation of the OTP patient.
* Inducting OTP patients on Medications for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD) including Methadone, Buprenorphine, or Naloxone.
* Ongoing evaluation of MOUD dosages
* Interprets results of diagnostic testing and plans appropriate follow-up with individual patients, with consideration given for their physical emotional and financial resources.
* Makes referrals to specialists and community resources as necessary.
* Utilizes evidence-based practices when ordering testing, interpreting results, diagnosing, and tracking patient conditions.
* Applies sound judgment and skill in emergency situations.
* Oversees activities of team to ensure consistent and coordinated patient care.
*Required Qualifications:*
* Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with advanced preparation as a Nurse Practitioner, Master’s Degree required.
* Current licensure in the state of Oregon as a registered nurse, with certification in the state of Oregon as a nurse practitioner with prescriptive privileges.
* Holds current DEA license.
* Ability to obtain credentialing by designated credentialing agency.
* One-year professional nursing experience in a clinic setting preferred.
* Preference given to bilingual applicants.
